She is the co-founder of the Know Your Rights Camps, along with Colin Kaepernick, to empower youth in their community and teach them various ways to interact with law enforcement as well as self-empowerment, financial literacy, tech and holistic health. She is huge advocate for women’s health and was involved in a national campaign to remove the stigma when it comes to women taking control of their reproductive health.
Annually Nessa hosts a prom pamper party for inner-city, underprivileged high-school girls filled with beauty treatments and inner-beauty discussions focused on women empowerment, using her own experience for the girls to take away from.
Nessa is a mentor in several organizations in New York including Dream Charter School in Harlem and the Bronx, as well as the Lower East Side Girls Club where she has a scholarship/mentorship program that launched in March 2018. She has spoken various times at the United Nations and utilizes her platform at HOT 97 and MTV by giving valuable life lessons and providing opportunities for young girls and boys to be involved in media.
