Alex Michaels aka Alexis Michelle is an actor and drag artist who gained international notoriety for her appearance on season 9 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Upon her finish in the top 5, Alexis began performing in concerts and tours around the world. In New York, she recently performed at the legendary Metropolitan Museum and has regularly running shows at Broadway’s Living Room & Feinstein’s 54 Below.
Before Drag Race, Alexis won the fifth season of NYC’s biggest live drag competition, So You Think You Can Drag?, and performed weekly in many nightlife venues in and around the city including Therapy, Industry and Barracuda. Inspired by the theater early on, Alex caught the theater bug as a child and attended LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts and Interlochen Center for the Arts. After getting a BFA in Musical Theater from Michigan University, he performed in musicals on tour, regionally and off-Broadway. Recently Alexis starred in the 25th Anniversary concert performance of Hair. New Yorkers see her regularly in the widely popular campaign for Manhattan Mini Storage, and she is currently shooting a yet-to-be-announced pilot for a major network.
