Benjamin Hurvitz is Vice President, Current Programming and Development at MTV. Hurvitz is responsible for overseeing production on a handful of MTV’s original series, including Teen Mom OG, Teen Mom 2, and Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club among others.
Hurvitz joins the MTV team after years spent as a writer and Showrunner/Director, delivering series for TLC, Bravo, Fuse and MTV. He learned from his heroes at MTV on classic series like Making the Video, Dismissed, Trippin,’ Punk’d and Why Can’t I Be You? before moving on to help to create The Rachel Zoe Project (as Season 1 director) and Eat, Drink, Love for Bravo, The Little Couple for TLC and Time’s Up for MTV.
Hurvitz began his career writing/producing his own plays and working as a Jr. Creative Exec in scripted at Warner Brothers before finding his passion for unscripted content. He’s a graduate of the University of Michigan with a specialized degree in Dramatic Writing from the Film and Video Studies Department.
