Rebecca Prentice is the Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Paramount Pictures, where she is responsible for overseeing the legal affairs for the company. She joined Paramount in July 1996. Prior to joining Paramount, Ms. Prentice was a partner at the law firm of Shearman & Sterling, practicing in its Los Angeles corporate group. During her 10 years with the firm, she specialized in corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions. Before joining Shearman & Sterling, she spent nearly four years with the Los Angeles law firm of Kindel & Anderson. In 2011, Ms. Prentice was honored with the Outstanding Corporate Counsel Award, given by the Corporate Law Departments Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and in 2013, was named Counsel of the Year by the Association of Media and Entertainment Counsel. She currently serves on the Dean’s Advisory Council at Cornell Law School, and on the President’s Council of Cornell Women at the University. She is a past member of the Board of Directors of Bet Tzedek in Los Angeles. Ms. Prentice received her law degree from Cornell Law School and her BA from California State University, Fresno.
