Sebas Muriel is the Director of Digital Telco Experience at Telefónica, working in Telecom & Internet Industry (Technology, Infocom, Entertainment & Media). He has expertise in developing information society markets, R&D
strategy, managing innovation, and financing complex projects with high technological risk.

Sebastian started his career at Hewlett Packard (1995); later, he joined the Microelectronics division of Lucent Technologies (1997-2001), before moving to PricewaterhouseCoopers's strategic consulting and business team (2001-2006) in the area of technology, information, communications and entertainment (TICE).

He was General Director of red.es (2006 - 2011), within the Office of the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and the Information Society (MITYC). It was during this period that he was on the Governing Councils of Inteco (IT Security) and Cenatic (open source software), as well as on the Board of Trustees of the EOI Business School.

Sebastian was President of the XBRL Association Spain, and the first Spanish member of the Executive Committee of XBRL Europe. During 2007, he was the Vice President of IQUA (whose certificate of Internet quality was ultimately combined with Confianza On-Line); and he was on the Board of Trustees of the CTIC Technology Center.

During the year 2009, he was the President of Fundetec, and he has been CEO at Tuenti since 2011.

He is currently the Director of Digital Telco Experience at Telefonica since 2017.
