Speaker Bio
Lammert Kamphuis was born in Voorburg in 1983. After completing grammar school in Zwolle, he graduated in philosophy from the Utrecht University, in theology from the Kampen Theological University and obtained a first-level lecturer’s authority at the Free University in Amsterdam. After his studies, he worked as a philosophy teacher at secondary schools, colleges and universities. In 2014, he started his own company and since then he has worked as a philosopher and speaker for many different organizations. He also writes books and is a teacher at The School of Life Amsterdam.
Lammert likes to teach the philosophy of Socrates, who once stated that a philosopher is like a midwife. Both help to bring out that which lives inside others: the midwife a baby, the philosopher the ideas, intuitions and assumptions. In this way Lammert stimulates people to look for self-awareness. In 2018, his philosophical essay collection ‘Filosofie voor een weergaloos leven’ was published by De Bezige Bij. Lammert lives with his girlfriend in Amsterdam.
